DayZero ("we", "our", or "the extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy policy explains how our Chrome extension handles your data.

Data Collection and Storage

Local Storage Only

• All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API
• No data is transmitted to any external servers
• No analytics or tracking services are used
• No personal information is collected or shared

Data We Store Locally

The extension stores the following data on your local device:

1. Task Information
   • Your daily Most Important Task (MIT)
   • Optional sub-tasks (up to 5)
   • Task completion status
2. Settings and Preferences
   • Focus mode preferences
   • Pomodoro timer settings (duration, intervals)
   • Distraction website blocklist
   • Language preference
   • Theme settings
3. Usage Statistics (Local Only)
   • Pomodoro session counts
   • Daily focus time tracking
   • Task completion history
   • All statistics remain on your device

Permissions

The extension requests the following permissions:

• storage: To save your tasks and settings locally
• tabs: To manage new tab override and detect distracting websites
• alarms: To run the Pomodoro timer
• notifications: To send Pomodoro completion alerts
• host_permissions (<all_urls>): To detect when you visit distracting websites for the focus mode feature

Third-Party Services

• No third-party services are currently integrated
• No data sharing with any third parties
• No cookies are used by the extension

Future AI Features (Optional)

In future versions, we may add optional AI features that:

• Can be completely disabled by users
• Will only activate with explicit user consent
• May use AI APIs (e.g., Grok, Claude) to:
  • Generate personalized motivational quotes
  • Auto-generate task suggestions
  • Analyze productivity patterns

When AI features are enabled:

• Only necessary data will be sent to AI providers
• You will be informed about what data is shared
• You can disable AI features at any time

Data Security

• All data is encrypted by Chrome's built-in storage encryption
• No data transmission means no risk of interception
• Data remains under your control on your device

Data Deletion

You can delete all your data at any time by:

1. Removing the extension from Chrome
2. Using the "Clear All Data" option in extension settings
3. Manually clearing Chrome's extension storage

Children's Privacy

This extension does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Since all data is stored locally and no information is transmitted, there is minimal privacy risk.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
